Do you know what perioperative nurses do? Perioperative nurses are also known as surgical nurses or operating room nurses. These team members are the ones who care for patients before, during, and after their procedure. Perioperative nurses’ duties include anything from being a scrub nurse, choosing and passing instruments during the procedure, checking vitals, or managing the overall nursing care in the operating room.
Why do we mention this? Because November 12-18 is National Perioperative Nurses Week! We at SCCR want to thank all of our perioperative nurses for the incredible work they do, and the kindness and care they give to each of our patients.
